Birthday celebration Part 1! 16.8.2019

I always make it a point to celebrate my birthday with my family. I remember when I was in my teens, I think it is super uncool to have your parents around when all you want to do is celebrate with your friends. Now, more than anything. I wanna Honor my birthday with them. Real talk, I won’t be able to celebrate this thing call birthday, if my parents didn’t fall in love and my mom didn’t push me out.

This is the first birthday that hits me hard. It is the first one where I don’t leave the house with them together in a car to the restaurant, because now I have my own place that I call home. Now I have to make prior plans with them to make sure we can all meet at the same time. And I leave my home with my life partner to the restaurant.

The first year in my life where they don’t see me everyday of their life. Sometimes you forgotten that that is their life before they have you. So yea it hits me. In a good way. It shows growth, shows maturity, shows me that I am officially in the next phase of life. And no matter how old I am, I am forever their child.
